I was pleasantly surprised. This book felt fresh and different from many fantasy romances I’ve read, and I found myself completely invested in the story from the start.
The FMC was one of my favorite parts of the book. She’s snarky, witty, and unapologetically herself. While she may not always follow conventional ideas of right and wrong, she has a strong moral compass of her own and refuses to stop searching for the truth, no matter where it leads. Her curiosity and determination made her incredibly engaging to follow. The story is filled with elements I love: a slow-burn romance, plenty of yearning, hidden agendas, mysteries waiting to be uncovered, and a ghost who managed to be both hilarious and lovable. The character interactions were entertaining, and the plot kept surprising me in ways I didn’t anticipate. What stood out most was how unique the overall story felt. Just when I thought I knew where things were heading, another layer would be revealed.
And that ending… HEARTBREAKING ❤️🩹
Rather than wrapping everything up neatly, it leaves you with the feeling that there’s still more to come…that the other shoe is about to drop. Overall, this was an engaging, unique, and thoroughly enjoyable read. If you’re looking for a paranormal fantasy with necromancy, mystery, humor, and slow-burn tension, this one is definitely worth picking up. 📚❤️"
